Wow... it's been a minute since I've done a blog post. Life has been so crazy since I graduated from college. I'm hoping to get on a more routine schedule and do a new blog post once or twice a week! For now, I figured I would jump on here and tell you a little bit about what you've missed about my life this past month...
So post-grad life is so weird. So many of my friends are younger than me and still have another year of college left, which is giving me some major FOMO. I loved college, and going to school out of state makes it so much harder because so many of my friends are far away from me. But, I am looking forward to watching them all have a great senior year, and making some trips out to school to see them and relive some of my college days! (Even though it has literally only been 2 months since I've been in college...)
After sending out about 60-70 job applications in the last couple months of school... I am excited to say: NO ONE would hire me. Could not find a job. There are few things more frustrating than spending 4 years studying for a college education, spending Lord knows how much money, and still not being able to find a job... That being said, I decided to hire myself. Currently I am working on my own design career, and have created a boutique collection entitled "Cecilia by RAWdesign" that is being sold on www.lexi-lou.com. Within 2 hours my Limoncello Crop top was sold out, what an incredible feeling. It is so cool being able to see people wearing my designs, in clothes handmade by me, with my tag in them. I never thought I would get that feeling fresh out of college. Although there is still A LOT to do, and this endeavor of mine is still very small, it is nice to get a little taste of independency and it makes me excited for what is to come in the future.
Because I have been so busy with my career over the past month, and trying to get my life somewhat together (even though it is still NOT together), my instagramming and blogging have been taking somewhat of a back burner. I'm hoping that now that I've laid the foundation for myself I can get myself into more of a normal routine, and get back into some blogging and amp up my instagram game a little bit.
As far as my blog goes, I think I am going to blog about a conglomeration of stuff... of course my one, true passion, DEAL FINDING, my designs, current fashion trends, accessorizing, life, and Lexi-Lou boutique (a new online boutique that is featuring my Cecilia by RAWdesign collection!) Which brings me to the next thing...
LEXI-LOU BOUTIQUE!!! You have got to check out this site! This is a new online boutique selling my new boutique collection. This site features so many adorable boutique pieces, all for affordable prices... which you all know I love. Finding stores, especially boutiques, that sell things for reasonable prices is so hard to find, and I am a firm believer that everyone deserves to express themselves through fashion, even if they don't have an endless pool of money to spend on clothes, because I know I don't. Something also really cool about Lexi-Lou, are the Lend-A-Hand headbands. These headbands are sooo comfy and cute (also perfect for a bad hair day, or those days where you just aren't feeling like putting effort into your hair). They look cute with updos, half-updos, literally anything. Here's the cool part, $1.00 of every headband purchase is donated to a different charity each month. Cuteness for a cause. I'm LIVING for these. ANDDDD if you use my promo code "RACHEL001" you get 10% your first purchase!! ;)
SO here's the moral of the story. I'm sorry I've been MIA for the past month, but I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. Post-grad life is NOT easy, but is a learning experience and I'm excited to see where I will be a year from now. And lastly, CHECK OUT WWW.LEXI-LOU.COM, and shop my collection, the other adorable clothing and accessories, and the Lend-A-Hand bands to help with a cause!
Talk to you all soon!
Rachel :)
PS-- This is one of my Cecilia by RAWdesign pieces! It is called the "Emma Dress" after my great-grandmother I never got the chance to meet, but hear she was a pretty awesome lady. ;) It is a ONE OF A KIND!!! And only $49.99... If you want to be the only one in a dress like this, and wear a completely hand-made piece from a young designer, this is the dress for you! Check it out on www.lexi-lou.com!
